What is the Katedra Language School CELT?

About Katedra Language School
Katedra Language School is one of the largest language schools in Hungary present in 37 towns. In Budapest the following languages are taught: English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Hungarian, Czech, Finnish, Greek, Hebrew, Dutch, Japanese, Chinese, Polish, Russian, Portuguese and Swedish. The language school currently employs 280 qualified language teachers working at 10 different venues in Budapest. Over 12.000 students enrol for the in-school courses every year. Over 800 in-company courses are ordered yearly. Hundreds of students take part in language courses abroad every year. The high quality of services is maintained by a staff of 40 people, 40 up-to-date computers, 6 high capacity copy machines and 30 landlines. Teachers can use a professional library of 10.000 volumes. The language school currently has 60 well-equipped classrooms. Thousands of students sit for the examinations administered by the language school, and a high proportion of the students prepared at the school pass the exams. The standards and control of the language school procedures are attested by ISO 9001:2000 standards. The language school is an adult training institute accredited by the Adult Training Accreditation Body (registration number: AL0071), and has 13 accredited programmes. Due to the accreditation, the companies ordering these programmes can use a part of the professional training contribution specified in the relevant legislation for the training of their employees. The language school is an examination centre for the following exams: TELC, ITK-ORIGO, BGF, BME, LCCI, EURO, Cambridge.
What are the course details?
Our course provides pre-service training for those who wish to enter the EFL profession at an initial level. Our courses are delivered by a team of highly qualified and experienced trainers, who are available to offer guidance, support and feedback to all participants. It is an intensive (semi-intensive) 4-6 week (120+ hour) course, which takes place from Monday to Friday (intensive) or Monday, Wednesday and Friday (semi-intensive).

The course fee is refundable if the candidate passes the exam and is offered a job of minimum 600 lessons at Katedra. The 600 lessons are paid at the standard Katedra rate which is applicable to qualified native teachers. |

| Entry requirements |
Candidates should be at least 20 years of age and hold a University or College Degree or equivalent or be a final year student at a college or university.
Non-native speakers may be admitted provided that their level of English is equivalent to that of the Council of Europe’s Mastery Level C1. |
